What is Steel Strapping?
Banding/Pallet strapping is the practice of using polyester or steel to palletize, unitize, or bundle products together.
- Strappings are applied manually or by a strapping machine; a strap or band is placed around the product and then pulled tight to secure the product.
- The strap/band is attached using a strapping sealer tool, which tightly crimps down around a seal.
- The excess material is removed and recycled.

What are the Advantages of Steel Strappings?
Steel Strappings are made from various steel alloys, giving them the highest breaking and highest tensile strength. There are also ideal for situations where the material has sharp edges or hard corners—for example, flat roll steel and steel coils.

What materials are steel strappings made from?

What is a High Tensile Steel Strapping?
A high tensile steel strapping is cold-rolled steel with a high carbon and manganese content. This material is heat-treated to ensure uniform tensile and elongation. Elongation measures how much bending and shaping material can handle before breaking.

Alliance Steel is a flat roll and coil processing - steel service center in Gary, Indiana. We have been a leader in flat-roll steel supply and coil processing for over 20 years. In May of 2020, we relocated to Gary, Indiana, strategically placing ourselves near significant highways, mills, and ports. There are also two sales locations in the Mid- South (Atlanta and Memphis).
